On Saturday 7 March, during the General Assembly of IPA Catalunya held in Lloret de Mar, the Jocs IPA de la Fraternitat were officially presented to the Catalan IPA groups.
During the presentation, the origin and spirit of the project were explained. The initiative was created with the aim of promoting fraternity among IPA members, encouraging sporting activity and giving visibility to the different territorial groups and the values they represent.
As highlighted during the event, the Games are not intended to be only a sporting competition, but above all an opportunity to meet again outside the service environment, strengthen bonds between forces and colleagues, promote physical and emotional well-being, and recognize the daily work carried out by professionals in security and emergency services.
The Jocs IPA de la Fraternitat will take place in Barcelona from 22 to 25 May and will include five sports disciplines: 7-a-side football, 3×3 basketball, padel, beach volleyball and athletics.
Competitions will mainly take place in the mornings, while the afternoons will be dedicated to cultural activities and experiences in the city, including visits to the Museu del FC Barcelona, exclusive free tours and a closing celebration at the Antiga Fàbrica Damm.
Several Catalan IPA groups have already confirmed their participation, including Badalona, Barcelona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Esplugues de Llobregat, as well as teams linked to the Mossos d’Esquadra.
The presence of international delegations was also highlighted, with confirmed participants from Monaco, Italy and Romania, reinforcing the European dimension of the event.
